Why are plant-based proteins good?
Whether you’re a dedicated vegetarian or even a vegan, or if you choose not to consume animal-based proteins for other reasons (e.g., due to sensitivity to a certain ingredient), you’ll need to turn to plant-based proteins. However, plant-based proteins alone do not contain a complete amino acid profile, even though they do contain all the essential amino acids. Unlike animal-based proteins, their amino acid ratio does not meet the human body’s needs. Since protein contributes to muscle growth and maintenance, as well as to the maintenance of normal bone health*, it is necessary and important to consume an adequate amount of high-quality protein even while following a vegan lifestyle.
How can this be addressed? It is necessary to combine various plant-based proteins, which gives us a chance to overcome the risks mentioned above.
