L-Lysine amino acid from Viridian Nutrition in an organic and fermented form. Each capsule contains 500 mg of L-lysine. It is an essential amino acid, which means the human body cannot synthesize it and it must be obtained through diet. Its properties are related to carbohydrate and fat metabolism, protein synthesis, as well as heart health, mental well-being, and cold sores. L-lysine is present in the supplement in its free form, so it does not require digestion and is quickly absorbed by the body.
Amino acids are the basic building blocks of proteins throughout the body. They are classified as either essential or nonessential. L-lysine is found in large quantities in muscle tissue.
