Macronutrients, i.e., the major nutrients, are as follows: carbohydrates, proteins, and fats. Our body uses various enzymes to break them down. There are many types of protein-digesting enzymes; we’ve added bromelain and papain—extracted from pineapple and papaya—to this product. Among the 9 active ingredients are other plant-based components, notably odorless garlic extract and turmeric. Turmeric contains 95% polyphenolic compounds known as curcuminoids. In addition, cinnamon and ginger—commonly used spices in cooking—also play a role in this product. Ginger (Zingiber officinale) aids digestion.**
The chromium, biotin, and zinc contained in the product contribute to the proper metabolism of macronutrients. Zinc contributes to the proper metabolism of carbohydrates and fatty acids, as well as to the proper metabolism of acids and bases.
