Magnesium is one of the most important minerals in the body, as it participates in hundreds of biochemical reactions within our system. At the same time, magnesium is often a deficient mineral in our bodies, since the body’s need for it increases during periods of heightened stress and strain.

WhyPyridoxal-5'-phosphate?

Vitamin B6 exists in several forms, which are converted into P5P in the liver. P5P is the so-called active form of vitamin B6. It is a coenzyme, which means it works with enzymes to help them perform their tasks more quickly and efficiently, making it a key component of biosynthesis. P5P plays an important role in many processes in the body, such as metabolism at the cellular level, regulation of hormonal activity, support of mental function, reduction of fatigue and exhaustion, and much more. When you take P5P as a source of vitamin B6, you gain an advantage because it bypasses the conversion process in the liver, which can alter the effects of vitamin B6.

Why unbuffered magnesium bisglycinate?

The main reason is high bioavailability, a popular term for “absorption.” Unfortunately, most brands label a product as containing magnesium glycinate or magnesium bisglycinate when it actually contains a large amount of magnesium oxide and only a small proportion of pure magnesium glycinate. This is called buffered magnesium bisglycinate. Naturally, this results in poorer magnesium absorption by the body, which is why our product contains only 100% pure magnesium bisglycinate.

What exactly is magnesium glycinate/bisglycinate?

It is magnesium in a so-called chelate bond, where magnesium is bound to two glycine amino acids. Glycine is not only a completely natural amino acid, but it also enhances the effect of magnesium. Chelation is a process in which organic compounds—in our case, amino acids—bind to metal cations, in this instance magnesium. Chelation is used to improve the body’s absorption of minerals. Minerals in chelated form are absorbed several orders of magnitude more easily than in their unchelated form.
