MAGNESIUM + P5P PROM-IN® combines 100% pure magnesium bisglycinate with pyridoxal-5'-phosphate (P5P), the active form of vitamin B6. It is a combination of two substances that are commonly used in periods of higher mental stress, fatigue or in situations where the aim is to support the nervous system.

What forms the basis of the product

Magnesium Bisglycinate

Magnesium is bonded to two glycine molecules - resulting in a chelated form that is well tolerated in practice and does not require high doses. The product contains only unbuffered bisglycinate, with no admixture of inorganic forms.

Pyridoxal-5'-phosphate (P5P)

An active form of vitamin B6 that can be used directly by the body without further conversion. It is mentioned in the literature in connection with amino acid metabolism and nervous system function.

What does magnesium actually do?

Magnesium is one of the most important minerals in the body as it is involved in hundreds of biochemical reactions in our body. At the same time, magnesium is also often a deficient mineral in our bodies, as the body increases its need for it under increased stress and strain.

WhyPyridoxal-5'-phosphate?

Vitamin B6 can be found in several forms, which are converted to P5P in the liver. The latter represents the so-called active form of vitamin B6. It is a coenzyme, which means it works with enzymes to help them perform their tasks faster and more efficiently, and is therefore a key element in biosynthesis. P5P plays an important role in many processes in the body, such as metabolism at the cellular level, regulation of hormonal activity, support of mental activity, reduction of fatigue and exhaustion levels, and much more. When you take P5P as one of the sources of vitamin B6, you gain an advantage because then the conversion process in the liver does not have to occur, which modifies the action of vitamin B6.

Why unbuffered magnesium bisglycinate?

The main reason is high bioavailability, a popular word for "absorption". Unfortunately, most brands refer to a product containing magnesium glycinate or bisglycinate as one that contains a large amount of magnesium oxide and some proportion of pure magnesium glycinate. This is called buffered magnesium bisglycinate. The body's magnesium supply will naturally be lower, which is why our product contains only 100% pure magnesium bisglycinate.

What is magnesium glycinate/bisglycinate?

It is magnesium in a so-called chelate bond, where magnesium is bound to the two amino acids glycine. Glycine is not only a completely natural amino acid, but also potentiates the effect of magnesium. Chelation is the process by which organic compounds, in this case amino acids, bind to metal cations, in this case magnesium. Chelation is used to improve the absorption of minerals by the body. Minerals are absorbed several orders of magnitude more readily in the chelated form compared to the mineral form alone.
