C bodybuilding is a specific sport focused on changing body composition, which is achieved primarily through strength training combined with a targeted nutritional regime. A bodybuilder's diet must contain sufficient nutrients necessary for both intense strength training and building muscle mass. The basis of supplementation is therefore products that support the intensity of strength training, which contain both carbohydrates and other substances that improve the energetics of training, such as creatine, carnitine or BCAA. These are often combined with substances that promote muscle blood flow, such as stimulants of nitric oxide production. The effect of these substances can be further enhanced by stimulants that "energize" before exercise or during exercise when fatigue builds up, such as taurine or caffeine. After training, it is desirable to support recovery and provide sufficient building blocks for muscle building. Post-workout products therefore contain carbohydrates, proteins, possibly free amino acids or other substances. During the training period, products to support the burning of subcutaneous fat are also relevant. Intensive strength training is also demanding in terms of the need for certain vitamins and minerals, which should also be supplemented in this sport.
